Commercial Dog Food Sold in Stores

You will find that there are many dog food brands in the store, but there are only three different styles of dog food. In other words, there are canned, partly moist, and dry foods that you can purchase. When you are deciding what to feed your dog you should research all three, talk with your veterinarian, and decide what is best for their health. Sometimes you may find a combination of the dog foods is the best option for optimal nutrition. On the other hand, you may find that one will serve all your needs.

Dry dog food is created with several components of vegetables and meat. This item can be stored in bulk or you may wish to try out the different brands before settling on just one. Sometimes your dog may have issues with certain brands and therefore you should integrate the new with the old to try out other dog foods. The dry food has very little water in the creation of the food. You will also find they are the less costly of the three mentioned. Often times you can find all natural ingredients rather than supplement dog food depending on the brand of dry dog food you are looking for. You should always check the ingredients to make sure there are low carbohydrates and that there is sufficient protein in the food.

Partially moist dog food offers more water. These tend to be a little more expensive for your dog, but they can be beneficial, especially for older dogs that have dental issues. It can be easier to chew and swallow. You will find meat, vegetables, sugar, and plenty of fat in the partially moist dog food. This does not mean it is a bad decision in dog food, but be careful when you are purchasing partially moist dog food that you are getting the best on the market. The dogs tend to love the taste of the moist food over plain dry food. You may also find more variety in tastes with partially moist food above the dry food. The ingredients may have already helped you decide that dry food is more healthy for your dog, but do not forget we also have canned food to choose from.

Canned and Dry Food Differences

Canned food is going to be extremely moist.   You will find several varieties and you will find it is more expensive than dry food.   You should also know that most contain meat, fish, grain, and high fats and sugars.   While dogs love the taste of canned dog food you should only consider it as a treat.   Canned dog food tends to provide low energy for your dog because the nutrients are not there.   This means you are actually harming your dog and taking away what they need to be healthy.

Dry food is the best recommendation.   If your dog struggles to eat the dry food, you can add a little water to help soften it up.   This can make it easier to still supply the right nutrients without harming your dog.   You can also provide the right amount of food per day.   The other foods require a bigger portion just to get the proper nutrients.
